Ethno-mathematician is certainly a strange sounding profession. This talk from Ron Eglash is absolutely fascinating. He shows how intuition and tradition lead to fractal designs exhibiting robust and excellent qualities. While mathematics is not used in the process, Ron discovers the mathematical concepts after the fact.
