Beside of all the iPhone 4S and iOS 5 hype OS X 10.7.2 and Aperture 3.2 were released this week.
This fixed two annoying Aperture issues. It writes IPTC metadata to master files again and - on first impression - its performance does not degrade over time.
Though now I can no longer switch to HDMI audio when my headphones are plugged in?!

Update:
Update: Apparently Apple also released 3.2 today.
So far busy to download iOS 5 and OS X 10.7.2
[Update] Downloads still in the hours. Installation on iPad aborts with internal error. I suspect it timeouts on the verification with Apple. See others posting similar issues in fora and being successful after a few retries.
Hey Apple, this would have been a good day to embrace BitTorrent. Yes, peer-to-peer has its value.

iBookstore: French £17.99, English £12.99 and Italian £10.99.
The Amazon Kindle Edition is also £12.99 for the English version. I tend to rather buy from Amazon even having iOS devices and no Kindle devices.

Three good reasons why Google+ does not need hashtags
Never thought about this but I tend to agree. Simply because it is KISS (_Keep it simple, stupid_). Interesting aspect: do you want to allow people to facilitate search (they could honor hashtags in searches) or rather not to avoid any misuse?

Again another excellent analysis worth to contemplate about:
"Social Tablet era"
"People are designed to socialize with other humans, and also to explore the world with touch."
Great one! Touch-based tablets - especially the iPad - plays to our deep hard-wired desire to touch things and - well - play with them. Hmm, is tactile experience the most 'emotional'?
So the symbiosis of tablet and social networks will revolutionize our social experience as built-in cameras in mobile phones did.
"Artificial Experience Phone Era"
Hmm, clumsy name. IBM is 'commercializing' AI on the high-end leveraging the visibility of Watson winning Jeopardy!. http://www.ibm.com/ibm100/us/en/icons/watson/
However, bringing first class "computer assistant" experience to the consumer market shifts everybody's experience. Voice recognition and control were around for many years - Dragon and ViaVoice are most notable contenders.
Well, PDAs were around for nearly 20 years as well but the breakthrough came when combined with multi-touch in iPhone and iPad.
I am still munching about these assessments. Definitely there is something in them. May be I am enchanted by Tuesday's event.
Maybe companies will soon need a BYOCA to work policy: Bring your own computer assistant.
